Home Show Party Success: Why Knowing Your “Why” Is So Important
ByIt can’t be said enough that the key to success in any home based business is all about your mindset. Whether your business is selling baskets, kitchen supplies or financial planning, if you believe you’re going to be successful and you maintain a positive attitude there isn’t anything you can not accomplish.
I don’t know where you are in your home show party sales business right now. You may be new to the home show party sales business, you may have been involved in your business for years, you might not even be have started your home business yet, or you may be just starting to think about working from home to earn some extra money.
Wherever stage you are currently at, if you don’t know your “why” STOP! Don’t do anything else for your business, don’t make another call, don’t book another show, don’t sign up another recruit, don’t send another email. Because if you don’t know your “why” you are not going to be successful in your business.
That’s a pretty dramatic statement, but it is so true. You will never succeed if you don’t know what it is that you are fighting for.
What are we talking about when we say you’re “why”? We mean, WHY are you in the home show party sales business? WHY do you want to run your own business? WHY do you want the amazing benefits that a home based party sales business offers you? WHY?
To help you figure out what your “why” is let me tell you what it is NOT. Your “why” is never about the money. You might think that you are motivated by money but reality is that nobody really is. You are probably saying, “But I am different, I am doing it for the money!” What you are really motivated by is what the money can DO for you and what it can do for your family.
When you’re thinking about your “why” you’ll want to think about things that are emotional to you. Your husband (or wife), your children, your parents, your friends, your childhood dreams… things that really hit you hard emotionally.
No one can tell you exactly what your “why” is for you personally, but let me give you some examples of what it is for a lot of people…
- Being able to take care of your parents like they took care of you…
- Giving your children a better life than you had…
- Letting your spouse quit or cut down hours at his or her job…
- Living in the house of your dreams…
- Being able to give more money to your church….
- Waking up every morning and doing exactly what YOU want to do everyday…
- Being able to wake up everyday without worrying about whether the lights are going to get turned off today…
- Being able to send you children to college….
You “why” might not be in the list above. But use these ideas as a starting point for your own why.
Also keep in mind that you don’t have to have just one “why”. You can have 2, 5, 10 even 20 “whys” as long as they are personal to you and help motivate you, you can have as many as you can think of.
Now that you’ve got your “why” you need to mediate on it every single day, don’t let it slip out of your mind. When you come home from a long day of work and you don’t feel like working on your business simply take a look at your “why” and if it’s strong enough it will push you to work a little harder even when you don’t want to.
There really is NOTHING that will motivate someone to success in the home show party sales buisness more than their “why”. Make sure you have one and make sure it’s a GREAT one.
